Our of Resident Artist, Fred Parker has provided artwork
for the winery in many forms including his remarkable painting
of Sonoma Mountain depicting the scene which inspired the
winery's logo. His studio/gallery is located less than a mile
from the winery and can be a welcomed extension to any visit
to Deerfield.
Several of his artworks are available on our
web site shopping cart and in our tasting room. To support
a good cause, 30% of all art purchases are donated to the
non-profit organization responsible for care of the winery's
front door — the Kenwood marsh and wetlands.

The History of Wine
Wine has been a popular beverage of mankind for thousands of years. Our natural fondness of this drink stems from the wonderful taste, its nutritious properties and not least its psychotropic (intoxicating) effects.

PATRICE WARD: One of our favorite photographers. After a
recent visit to Deerfield, Patrice went wild with his camera.
Later, he donated several of his remarkable images to us for
use as we saw fit. We have been able to use several throughout
the web site, as well as, in our flyers and publications.
We appreciate his generosity and would encourage your visit
to his web site.

THE CELLAR RAT: I am Addison Rex and I am a cellar rat located
at the bottom of the winery food chain. But just like the
food chain of Mother Nature, us little guys are indispensable.
Most people love to romanticize winemaking but the fact is
that a lot of it is dirty, sticky, and repetitive. Somebody
has to do the tough jobs of cleaning the barrels and tanks,
doing all of the daily tasks that a quality wine requires.
And all of the hard work that goes into making a bottle of
wine is, at the end of the day, what really gives a wine its
character. Visit my site and see what I mean.
